In depth

Verdict

Top Royelle is the pick over Sunken Rags, with Party Palace and newcomer Drifting Gold worth a mention. Top Royelle only got going when it was all over on her Newmarket debut in April, in the end finishing a creditable fifth behind Silk Blossom, and as the experience will not be lost on her, Richard Hannon's filly can be fancied to improve again. As long as she handles the surface, a big run is on the cards. Sunken Rags also shaped well when third on her Catterick bow but that form is not as good as that of the selection. Jamie Osborne has a had a couple of winners of late so the stable should be closely monitored, and with that in mind it would be no surprise if Party Palace, who can boast a bit of experience, were to improve enough to take a hand. Any support for the Karl Burke newcomer Drifting Gold, a daughter of Bold Edge, would be interesting, but Top Royelle is nominated to land the opener.
