The trio for the shortlist are INHERITOR, Scamperdale and Quick Release with the vote given to Inheritor. Trainer Bryan Smart is in cracking form and this colt Inheritor won well here last week when he got the better of Can Can Star. He looks a progressive sort and if he runs his race then he should be hard to beat. Scamperdale is another who arrives here on the back of a winning effort. He beat Confidentiality here on Boxing Day and he looks to be on a fair mark. He needs to be produced late to win his races so if he gets the gaps at the right time then he should be capable of making the frame. Quick Release was only narrowly beaten by Bawaardi here last time and he is not one to dismiss lightly. Bawaardi got the first run on him that day and he was closing at the line so he could be capable of bouncing back, although Bawaardi has since been out and let the form down. Reg Hollinshead sends both Iron Out and African Cheetah to post and both would have a chance, although the draw has not helped either. Inheritor looks a progressive sort and he gets the pick.
