Verdict

Sir Bond is on the same mark when an unlucky second here last time and can gain compensation from Dudley Docker, John Charles and Pauline's Princess. The selection already has a course and distance win to his name, and although he can bit a little bit quirky from time to time, there was nothing of that sort in his defeat here by Lord Chamberlain over 7f last time, when he was baulked over a furlong out and could only get a run when it was too late. With better luck in running this time he can score. Dudley Docker has yet to win over this far and his stamina is questioned given that he has only won over a mile once and has recently been seen over 7f of late, although he is in good nick. John Charles won over c&d on the second of his three starts that have all been here. That was in a maiden, though he trailed in last in handicap company last time out and there must be a question mark over his ability to bounce back in this. Pauline's Prince has to carry 7lb more than when landing a similar handicap over c&d last time and the manner of that success suggests that she may be capable of following up. At the very least he should give our selection the most to do here, though consistency is not her strong point and for that reason we will oppose and stick with Sir Bond to come good.
