        Colonel Custer Looked as though the handicapper had finally got his measure when finishing a never dangerous 4th behind Failed to Hit over course and distance five days ago.

        Kingsdown Trix (IRE) Moderate handicap hurdler who is returning to the flat after nearly four years; best observed today.

        Simply Noble Steadily falling down the weights and his run behind Mi Odds and Spanish Star (1st and 2nd at Southwell) reads well; type to do well today.

        Red Cafe (IRE) Closely matched with Simply Noble on Southwell running but a poor favourite last time out when things were in his favour.

        Indian Brave Still to break his maiden tag and doesn't appear to have much chance today on the evidence of dire recent form.

        Zincalo (USA) Has been making little impact in handicaps recently and no reason to suggest things will turn around today.

        Green Magical (IRE) Ex-Irish; little promise on either start in Britain and has a lot on his plate today on his AW debut.

        Irish Cream (IRE) Can run the occasional decent race and not without a chance in this grade; made a promising reappearance on the flat over two miles here five days ago after a winter of hurdling; one for the shortlist.

        Arpello False favourite when 8/13 for his handicap debut last month. Much to prove and much to improve on.

        Max (FR) Poor recent form although last run of any note did come at this track back in December.

        Latterly (USA) Ex-Irish; of little account.

        The Last Word Second in a weak race a fortnight ago gives him place claims but he is fairly inconsistent and others should be preferred.
