Verdict

Confident Kid disappointed yet again at Ripon last month and his trainer has had a season to forget. James Tate's filly CAPE PENINSULAR (NAP) has a higher rating after finishing third in a maiden here in July which has worked out well. She looks a better bet than stablemate Dubawi Hundred and should open her account today. Poet's Song looks thoroughly but has been placed three times in handicaps, though never over a trip this far. Roger Varian introduces the Champs Elysees colt Wadigor and he wouldn't need to be anything special to play a part.
