In depth

Verdict

Commandment has a favourite's chance and can pay to support, with Calming Waters, Hazy Days and Fluffy the ones to give him most to do. Commandment went into plenty of notebooks after making the more experienced Wester Ross pull out all the stops on his Windsor debut last month, losing ground on the turns before finishing well to get second. The experience will not be lost on him, and he should go one better here before tackling stronger company. Calming Waters took too keen a hold when eventually well beaten on his Turf bow at Sandown where the easy going would not have suited him anyway. Back on the all-weather, he can continue to build on earlier promising efforts with a better showing on this second run of the year only. Hazy Days could be anything, and the fact that Sir Mark Prescott has bucked his usual trend by sending out first-time winners this term means that she should not be overlooked, especially if supported in the ring, while Fluffy has been absent since contesting a strong Newmarket maiden on soft ground last year, and is another to follow as time goes on. The one to latch on to this time though is Commandment.
