In depth

Verdict

Lady Erica, Straffan, and Goldhill Prince are three against the field in this claimer and the vote goes to Lady Erica. The selection was a fair second on the AW on her debut at Southwell behind Nova Tor before being slightly disappointing on turf in the hope that the switch to this surface brings out some improvement she is taken to score. Straffan rates the main danger on his latest third behind Why Harry but he has yet to race on the AW and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Goldhill Prince is another worthy of respect but he has been well beaten in a maiden seller and will need to improve to score. Of the remainder Shish is a filly by Rossini and will not need to be anything special to score on her debut but for the winner we return to the more experienced Lady Erica.
