Verdict

Samarinda, Plum Pudding and Re Barolo are the three to concentrate on in this handicap and the vote is given to Samarinda. The selection was all-out to score last time when he beat Dream Lodge at Lingfield last month. This slight drop in trip will suit and with Mickey Fenton, who has partnered him for all of his 6 career wins doing the steering, he should be tough to beat. Plum Pudding was well-backed when finishing 5th behind Alfresco at Lingfield last time, but that was an improved effort and he is certainly one to bear in mind. Re Barolo showed improved form to finish fourth behind Atlantic Story last time, and he might well have finished closer had he not been squeezed for room. That was only his second run since switching to Marco Botti's stable so there may be more improvement to come. Charlie Tokyo returns to the level after a spell over hurdles, but he has never won on the all-weather and a better bet could be Samarinda who is taken to score.
