Verdict

Arturius, Climate and Crow's Nest Lad can fight out the finish in this claimer and the vote is given to Climate. The selection ran a solid race here on Saturday night when he just failed to wear down the odds-on favourite One Night In Paris. He finished clear of the rest in that race and if he can reproduce that run here then he can get his head in front. Arturius finished narrowly behind Mountain Pass here last time when he pulled very hard throughout the race. If he can settle better today then he can go close, especially with Jamie Spencer taking over in the plate, but he has a regressive profile which hardly fuels the confidence. Crow's Nest Lad was well beaten at Southwell last time, but that was in a handicap and he has to be respected now that he is dropped to this level. Cadwell could prove best of the others, but this looks a good opportunity for Climate who can turn up the heat on his rivals.
