In depth

Verdict

A fairly competitive nursery with a number of lightly raced and potentially well handicapped rivals in opposition. Bond Playboy will find this tougher after lifting an all-weather maiden last time and needs to improve but Cashel Mead stepped up on previous efforts when encountering soft ground last time and is handed a tentative TEAMtalk vote to follow up. John Spearing's charge ran out a most convincing winner of a minor event over this trip at Nottingham last week and looks worth following in similar conditions. Fiveoclock Express flopped badly on his handicap bow at Ripon when last seen out in August and now has something to prove while Franksalot has been dropped 5lb since last time but is a little more exposed and lacks the scope of others. Major Cavelli has been below expectations of late but is useful and has had his excuses (didn't last home over 7f last time) so may go well at an each-way price.
