Verdict

Polar Jem is narrowly preferred to Welcome Stranger and Weightless in the feature race on the card. The selection is a really tough mare and she ran with great credit last time at Salisbury when fourth behind La Persiana. She was giving weight to higher-rated rivals that day but she looks a Group winner waiting to happen and she will be hard to beat tonight. Welcome Stranger is an obvious danger as he ran with great credit in this grade last time when third behind Notable Guest at Haydock. He had previously won a Listed race at Newbury so he is entitled to go close tonight if he can maintain his recent form. Weightless was really disappointing at Sandown last time in a Listed race, but he is a multiple Group winner and if that latest effort is forgiven then he could prove difficult to beat. Common World will be well suited by the cut in the ground this evening but he is stepped-up in class and he will need to improve to get competitive. Fruhlingssturm is another that could go well at a price for those seeking some value in the race, but Polar Jem deserves to win a Group race and he looks to have been found a suitable opportunity tonight.
