Verdict

There are a couple of interesting newcomers here in the shape of Stone Of Folca and Eshoog but they face no easy task in this company first time up and a safer option looks to be TAKEAWAY, who can bounce back to winning ways. Like so many of the yard's youngsters, Richard Hannon's colt made a winning debut when successful at Kempton and has lost no caste in defeat in two subsequent starts, latterly when a close third behind Cape To Rio in a conditions race over course and distance and a similar run will make him tough to beat. Stan Moore's Danube Dancer won well in a Warwick maiden last time but this is tougher, while Jamie Osborne's Fifth Ave looked one to keep on the right side of when winning at Bath but was well held behind Primo Lady at York recently and now looks best watched. David Evans is represented by Joyously, who looks to be going the right way, and Scarlet Rocks, who has more solid claims and strictly has the beating of the selection on running here last time. Takeaway has only had the three runs so far though so there may well be more to come from Richard Hannon's colt and he can reverse that earlier running with Scarlet Rocks.
