Juantorena disappointed in a similar event to this last time but is given one more chance today, with Cesar Manrique, Dixieanna and Park Approach three that could also figure in the finish. It is possible Michael Bell's colt didn't stay the six furlongs last time when finishing third behind Desert Commander when long odds on, or he may have needed the run after a bit of a lay off. He had previously contested some top events, including the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot, so should have too much speed for these now he drops back to the minimum trip. Park Approach may prove best of the others with experience, as she showed plenty of promise when fourth to Shanghai Lilly at Salisbury. However we have two interesting newcomers in the Barry Hills pair Cesar Manrique and Dixieanne. The former is related to numerous winners including Achilles Star, while Dixieanna should have plenty of speed being by Night Shift out of a Lake Coniston mare. Juantorena is not one to take too short a price about, but does look the class act here and gets our vote.
