      Verdict

Darkness won his bumper at Plumpton in good fashion and is interesting on his hurdling debut but Charlie Egerton's gelding faces no easy task against Millenaire, who gets the vote ahead of Jacks Craic. The last mentioned has shown a consistent level of form this term and is entiled to be thereabouts again on recent evidence. Lady of Scarvagh hails from the in-form stable of Michael Scudamore and is another to consider along with Paul Webber's reappearing Salt Cellar. Anything that Nicky Henderson sends out cannot be easily discounted but Go For Bust needs to step up on form shown behind Murphy's Quest to play a part here and preference is for Millenaire. Jonjo O'Neill's gelding made a winning start to his career when landing a bumper at Haydock in January after which he was thought good enough to tackle the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. Although not up to that standard the son of Mister Mat showed enough on his reappearance at Newbury behind multiple winner Marcel to suggest that a race of this nature would be well within his compass and he is hard to oppose
