Verdict

The draw has been kind to Caustic Wit and, as such, he is given the office to brush aside his 6lb penalty; possibly at the main expense of Glencoe Solas and Complication, who are also drawn well and arrive here in cracking form. The same has to be said of the rejuvenated Tayif and High Ridge, who add further dimensions to a tricky handicap to solve. While support for Effective would be dangerous to dismiss; even though this does look a stiffer ask than he has been facing lately and he is creeping up the weights again. However, for the selection we return to Caustic Wit, who has really found the wining thread at the moment and has already coasted past a number of today's rivals during his current winning spree. The penalty obviously makes life a little harder tonight but, to counterbalance that, Robert Miles takes a handy 3lb off his back and the partnership are taken to pick up where they left off when victorious at Salisbury six days ago.
