In depth

Verdict

Arcanada boasts a terrific strike-rate for a handicapper and goes well here. He was back on-song under Poppy Fielding here last month, with A Sure Welcome only third, and his young rider’s claim is a plus again. LOUIE DE PALMA is at the opposite end of the handicap, though only conceding 10lb. He’s been running well in better races than this and will appreciate any give in the ground more than most. The Cruising Lord was a fair third back in a handicap at Doncaster and Aljady has been going well at Haydock but conditions may not be quick enough for the likes of Open Wide, Beyond Equal, Revolutionise and Magical Ride. Belated Breath may need another run while Dirty Rascal remains out of sorts and Mohareb may need to have his sights lowered.
