SIDE GLANCE was a useful handicapper last season and has taken the step-up to pattern race company in his stride, storming clear of St Moritz to land a Listed contest at Ascot. He's still on the upgrade and a line through the runner-up gives him the clear beating of his stablemate Set The Trend and also The Rectifier. The Cheka was sent to Ireland for his reappearance and came close to landing a Group 3, failing by the narrowest margin to hold off Lolly For Dolly. The ground was very heavy that day and rain would enhance his chances as it would for Penitent, a winner at this grade at Sandown in September.
