RAJ BALARAAJ (NAP) ran a fine race trying this longer trip for the first time at Newbury. He could have done without a 2lb rise but looks the one to beat ahead of Funky Footsteps, who have yet to race beyond a mile. Bayston Hill is pretty much exposed but is usually thereabouts and Ode To Glory has been placed the last twice, though never looked like winning on either occasion. Pretty Obvious will almost certainly be going hurdling this winter.
