In depth

Verdict

L'Oiseau made a winning return when landing a similar contest at Stratford last week by two lengths from Nick The Jewel, which represents solid handicap form, and he has an obvious chance off a 7lb higher mark getting the vote over Gorthnacurra and The Mighty Sparrow. The last mentioned has gone up 10lbs for his last time out win at Newton Abbot which in itself may not stop a repeat success but an absence since that start in July may. Richard Lee's Runner Bean is entitled to strip fitter for his return at Bangor and has to be considered, while James Victor could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Green Gamble may need the outing and of more interest could be Gorthnacurram, who was good value for his win at Gowran Park last time but has been hit hard with a 12lb rise for that success. L'Oiseau does not look to be harshly treated for his latest success though and he gets the vote to follow up.
