Verdict

FRAMPTON is the selection but with a degree of caution as he takes on a host of unexposed and interesting types from good yards. The topweight will benefit from the 5lb claim of the talented Charlie Deutsch and will hopefully find this company more to his liking after seemingly having his limitations exposed in a far better contest at Cheltenham last month. He may also represent a touch of value. Three last-time point-to-point winners are on show, notably It's A Close Call who represents the champion trainer, whose yard is now in full flow. The market may prove the best guide to his chances as there have still been a number of Ditcheat inmates who have needed the run. He's an interesting hurdling recruit most certainly. Mr Cardle returns after a lengthy absence and is respected along with Well Regarded and Wingers Diggers, both of whom showed promise on their sole bumper outings in the spring. Perhaps the main danger though could prove to be Velvet Cognac, who shaped well enough over this trip on his first run for the in-form Greatrex yard and should come on plenty for the run.
