Verdict

From our shortlist of Bearaway, Ede'Iff, Runner Bean and Bill Owens, we will side with Bearaway. The selection has won two of his last four races and, much as he is four pounds higher in the ratings than for the latest of them, he should still be improving and looks set to go well. Ede'Iff won his novice event but has since been beaten from revised marks, and was six lengths behind Bill Owens when giving that runner 21 pounds over course and distance in October. However, he is eight pounds better off today. Runner Bean has done well for connections, and much as he is four pounds above a best winning mark, he ought to be competitive at this level. For us, these form the shortlist, with the vote going to Bearaway.
