In depth

Verdict

Aasleagh Dawn was having only her fourth start over hurdles when battling to victory in a Downpatrick maiden and though carrying top weight probably won't have to improve much in a poor handicap. Naturally Blond won a handicap over 2m here last month, only her second victory in 36 starts, and she would have a chance if getting round safely. LOCKEEN GIRL (NAP) ran well over the course and distance on her return to action in May then found 2m too short at Kilbeggan. Runner-up in this a year ago she looks set to go one better. Shumaker was beaten a long way when runner-up over 2m6f at Downpatrick and probably needs further but Trans Wood beat a big field over this trip at Listowel and her overall form puts her in the frame.
