In depth

Verdict

A very tough handicap in which Newmarket Story will be fancied to complete a hat-trick despite being on her highest ever mark on the Flat. She should be thereabouts as should joint top-weight Formal Bid, another on a highest mark and who ran well at Galway behind Pozyc. Golan Guy doesn't win often enough though he found 1m6f just too short at Ballinrobe last time but a strong pace will suit Gudnis Gracious Me, a winner in the past year over hurdles and fences. The latter ran well behind Kristal Komet at Tramore last week when WHITEHEAD LAD and The Pott Reidy were just in front and it's the former, still winless after 18 career starts, who can finally lose his maiden tag as that was his best run for a very long time.
