In depth

Verdict

The Nicky Henderson-Tony McCoy combination is hard to ignore with Hermes Iii. A repeat of his second to Tucacas at Sandown on his last run is good enough to take this. The opposition is not strong. The best of these are Box Builder, who is bidding to follow up his Aintree win, the consistent but one-paced Beat The Retreat, and the Mary Reveley pair Penguin Bay and Abinitio Lady. Takeyourtime has long-since proven that his second to Montalcino at the Grand National Meeting in 2001 was not a true reflection of his ability but he holds place chances.
