In depth

Verdict

Potentially trappy, but we will go with the unexposed Ursis to improve for his first outing and be too good for Pay Attention, Kentucky Blue and Andre Chenier. The selection hacked up in a juvenile hurdle over course and distance last season. That was on good to soft, and with today's pilot A P McCoy on board, and it may well be significant that he is again booked here. He looked as though he needed that first run back, and he should be spot on for this. The Tim Easterby pair of Kentucky Blue and Pay Attention should both ensure that the race is competitive, and it's not inconceivable that either could win, given that the track and ground suits, though they do look to be carrying a few pounds too many in the saddle. Of the others, Andre Chenier handles cut and may be capable of further improvement over hurdles. He is also fit from the flat, and could go very well. But Ursis left a good impression in winning here last year and can repeat the dose under Tony McCoy.
