Verdict

LINDSEYFIELD LODGE is the call with Pistol Basc and Nothingbutthetruth as the dangers. The handicapper has finally dropped the nine-year-old down to his lowest mark for some time having been keen to hold him at a mark of 89 for a while. The combination of a 4lb lower start and fast ground are likeable in the context of a modest race. Pistol Basc was well fancied last time out before flopping. The ability to act on this surface is an imponderable. Nothingbutthetruth ran second at this meeting last season and with Tim Pitt among the winners of late, he is very much entering the fray. Toulouse Express is a credit to his connections and will be sure to run his race. On the negative, he does seem to run better when carrying lighter weights against better opposition rather than the other way around. Ice Image steps up in trip having campaigned over shorter in the past. Pat Morris is better known for his flat runners though as he is proven on fast ground, Reasonably Sure, is noteworthy off a very light weight indeed. Lindseyfield Lodge is far from bombproof as selections go, but at the weights, he has to be given more than just a glimmer of hope.
