In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer Leverock Lass was a shock winner in an Ayr novices' hurdle in January but was beaten a long way on a return visit last month. No Trumps ran a bit better on his handicap debut at Plumpton though will need more and though Dulce Panem has been running reasonably well a career strike-rate of 0-31 is hardly a vote of confidence. BORDER VICTOR (NAP) is 8lb higher than his only victory at Kelso in December but he was only narrowly beaten over this track and trip on his next start and looks the one to beat. The Sting didn't run badly at Carlisle last time and Billy Garritty's claim is a bonus but Mid Day Gun ran a shocker at Ffos Las after producing easily his best run at Carlisle a few day's earlier.
