Verdict

A poor contest for the track and one where YOU CAN OF COURSE looks capable of scoring, while Wizards Dust and Pistol Basc are worth consideration. The last-named was still going well enough when unseating over a similar trip at Uttoxeter when we last saw him in May, and his only career win came on good ground in his native France. He remains on the same mark here and can get competitive. Wizards Dust has a bit to prove after being pulled up last time but you don't have to glance too far back in his form to see a good ground Catterick win from a higher mark than today's, so he does have the ability for this. Rexmehead has generally been at his best in selling company thus far, so he will find even this race tough enough to handle, while the fast ground does not look in favour of Donald Will Do, though the trip is ideal for him. All of that leads us back to You Can Of Course, who is 2lbs higher than when going very close at Fontwell last time. The ground was good that day, and he does still have to prove he handles it this quick, but with a nice racing weight and an eyecatching pilot booked we are prepared to take that chance with doubts about all of the others.
