Verdict

Just Sooty can beat Up The Glen, with Why The Long Face having to concede weight all round. That fact should hinder his chance, although Richard Guest is sure to have schooled him well since his latest fall. However, Just Sooty can add to his victory at Sedgefield on what was only his third start over fences. He was good value for his victory that day, having been eased down on the run-in to account for Father Paddy, and has no more to do here. His main rival Up The Glen was plating class over hurdles but can make a better chaser judged on his second to Translucid at Towcester on only his second outing over fences. Lady Bob Back has it all to do and so Just Sooty is an obvious choice.
