Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Plenty of runners but as always in these mares contest, there is plenty in the way of deadwood. Alan King has a number of decent mares in his stable so Ben's Turn is recommended in favour of Glory Be and Fleurette. Ben's Turn has shown a willing attitude to winning in the past and appears unfazed by the going. Her third victory was all the more impressive as she was giving away 10lbs in winners penalties to the second. Glory Be is rated at 115 by the handicapper and has the form on the board. She probably did not beat too much in her Leicester victory but she could not have done it more impressively. Fleurette would have to go some to beat her on the figures. She should not be discounted so readily. A reliable sort - she has good finishing speed and could capitalise if this race is run at a fair pace. Cash and New was a little agricultural in her hurdling technique on debut. That is sure to have been worked on and she appears to be one of the better outsiders. Cresswell Willow looks sure to be up with the early pace. Boberelle ran better than her bare form at Windsor suggests and is best of the rest. Ben's Turn secures the verdict.
