Another open contest rounds off the card and Meelup, Midshipman and Acorazado are all shortlisted with the vote going to Midshipman. The selection's last run on this track can be discounted as he suffered interference at the top of the hill and was thereafter never able to get competitive. However, he had previously won well at Wolverhampton and if he can reproduce that effort here then he looks to have an outstanding chance. Acorazado confirmed his well-being with a decent effort on the AW last time out at Lingfield when a close fourth behind Phluke. However, his best form is on the AW and we are happy to take him on here. Meelup ran well at Lingfield last time but he has a 6lb penalty here and he looks as though the handicapper could just be catching up with him. Fiveoclock Express is another who would have claims on the pick of his form and he is worth considering, but Midshipman from the shrewd Tony Carroll yard is given the vote.
