In depth

Verdict

CAPTAIN BOB had no lucky at all in his first season and was only beaten half-a-length by the smart Meteoroid over this course and distance in August. He can be forgiven his final start at Doncaster in a valuable sales race as he was hampered at an early stage. Charlie Hills has booked Frankie Dettori for his reappearance and the Dark Angel gelding can get off the mark at the chief expense of Potentate, narrowly beaten in a couple of starts on Kempton's Polytrack in October. Marmarus and Strike A Light may do better in handicaps while Captain George should improve for the experience.
