In depth

Verdict

Royal Hall got no further than the second fence on his chasing bow at Fontwell and is Flat-bred, though has won three times over hurdles. Primal Focus was beaten a distance when MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN won a shade cosily over a longer trip at Newton Abbot. Very lightly raced, there should be plenty more to come from Emma Lavelle’s six-year-old and he has more scope than Anteros, who won over fences at the 10th attempt at Bangor and is 7lb higher now. Ballygown Bay continues to let down supporters while Templepark has changed stables since a below-par effort at Uttoxeter in July.
