Verdict

Don't Ask Me looks to be one of the lesser lights among Martin Pipe's stable and this looks to lie between the two penalised runners with preference for Arrayou over Norma Hill. The last mentioned did not race on the flat but has made up for the lack of experience in that sphere by having already had six starts over hurdles, latterly when getting no further than the first flight at Wincanton but previous form when winning at Hereford would give her a chance. Alan King's French import Daryal and Andrew Balding's son of Danehill Dancer, Redi, a 70-rated middle distance horse on the flat, are both interesting newcomers. Colin Tinkler's Play The Melody, a winner on the flat at Folkestone, showed signs of ability on his hurdling debut at Bangor recently and is another to consider along with the consistent pair of Biscar Two and Three Welshmen. The vote though goes to Arrayou. Oliver Sherwood's gelding showed decent form, without winning, in France and put a disappointing effort at Ludlow behind him when a convincing winner at Leicester last time. A reproduction of that effort should suffice.
