Promise Maker held on well when landing a selling handicap at Ripon earlier this month and Tim Walford's gelding has to be respected but a 5lb rise for that success makes this tougher and he may struggle to give 2lbs and a beating to SAND REPEAL, who gets the verdict ahead of Pertemps Power. Brendan Powell's gelding ran better back on turf at Folkestone last week and he has to be considered off the same mark again. Kirstys Lad has claims on the form shown at Beverley over 1m2f last month but he has disappointed over this trip in both starts before and after that run so he looks best watched. Reg Hollinshead's Drawn Gold finished last of the 11 runners at Haydock last time but that was on a softer surface and he may do better on better ground this evening. Mark Brisbourne has his team in good form now and his runner, Barbirolli, has every chance off his light weight but Sand Repeal is weighted to reverse their running from when they clashed at Folkestone in April and he is taken to resume winning ways.
