In depth

Verdict

A return to his best form could see Master Work in the firing-line off this mark. The front-running Mick Thonic has gone close the last twice at Wincanton and has another 10lb claimer in the saddle again today. Unsafe Conduct was too keen on his reappearance at Stratford while Je Suis Charlie has had a wind surgery and has raced on the Flat since last seen over timber. DEXCITE (NAP) was an eye-catcher on his first run for Alan King at Huntingdon and has been dropped a further 2lb since. The seven-year-old is looking very well treated nowadays and is worth a speculative wager in this, though Djin Conti and Finley's Eyes are both still unexposed and probably capable of better.
