In depth

Verdict

A wide open affair in which many have chances but the TEAMtalk selection is Talarive. The gelding is from the bang-in-form Jonjo O'Neill yard and he has shown enough in hurdle races in Ireland to suggest he can win a race of this nature and he is fairly well weighted on his best form. What You Know rates the main danger he has won his last two and won well at Exeter last time out when defeating Hobart Junction. But all of his wins have been on good to firm ground and he may find the ground to testing for him here. Compton Amica is also worthy of consideration he was fifth in a better race last time out behind Just A touch and he looks fairly weighted on that form. Gemi Bed could also go well he is fit from the flat and his second behind Indium over hurdles in May gives him a good chance. Park City has improved with each race over hurdles and still has scope for improvement, and his second last time out behind Take Heed gives him definite place claims. Anns Girl also has place claims on her best form but she has had plenty of chances and others in the field have more scope for improvement. Of the others Silver Risks is worth a cautionary look in the market but his stable has not had a winner for a long time.
