Verdict

Baron Otto and Akbabend would appear to be the two to focus on here as far as the top prize is concerned. The likes of Whiskey Jack and Amber Sunset boast each-way claims. Preference is for Willie Haggas' runner as he shaped with considerable promise in the Newbury maiden that was won by subsequent Group 3 second Control Zone. It's unlikely that he'll meet anything with that ability here and Baron Otto can open his account. Mark Johnstons' runners always command respect and Derby entry Akbabend takes the eye on paper but may require more time. Whisky Jack has become disappointing although blinkers did stop the rot to some extent at Windsor last time. Amber Sunset and Queen Sally are two others that will have pretensions of filling minor places but it would be a surprise to see either lower the colours of BARON OTTO.
