Verdict

The Michael Jarvis-trained Miss Trial is probably better than she showed on her soft ground debut at Kempton but needs to improve considerably on that effort to trouble King Marju, who is preferred to The Pheasant Flyer. The last mentioned ran an encouraging race on his debut at Brighton when a two-length third behind Yajbill and with the stable's juveniles normally improving with experience, he should step up on that effort today. Geoff Huffer's Muddy showed only a modicum of ability on his debut but should improve, while Tartan Special should appreciate what looks a drop in class. Jamie Osborne's Blade Of Gold makes most appeal among the newcomers, although a market move for the Stuart Williams-trained Nodina would be of interest. The vote though goes to Peter Chapple-Hyam's King Marju, who showed plenty of promise at Goodwood first time out and should appreciate the drop in trip to six furlongs being out of a half-sister to Cayman Kai.
