    Verdict

The ladies take centre stage in this bumper and with four last-time winners it could get more competitive than most races of its type, with Call At Midnight perhaps the best of those trying to defy a penalty, but preference is for debutant CHIT CHAT. Jonjo O'Neill's filly increased in price at last December's Cheltenham sales, which we take as a positive, and she is related to high-class stayer Marello. The stable has been in decent form for some time and has a good strike rate in this sphere, so we hope that it has prepared this Bob Back filly for a winning introduction. If she is not up to it then Call At Midnight can probably take advantage and defy a penalty. Alan King has a 16 per cent strike rate in bumpers at this track and his filly was a decisive winner of her Bangor debut last month, and she will take a bit of beating in spite of the penalty. Line Tzigane and Distant Florin are the other two winners at the first-time of asking, but neither found it quite so easy and look more vulnerable with an extra 7lbs to shoulder. Nigel Twiston-Davies sends Banjax Girl for the race and she is more distantly related to Marello, plus other winners, and a market check is advised regarding this point winner. David Pipe's inmates are going well and Floraline is likely to be capable of improving on her Ludlow debut from earlier in the year, but may still not be up to this, while Little Blackbeetle caused minimal fuss in the sales ring and with Paul Webber yet to break his duck in bumpers at the track, she looks worth taking on. Chit Chat can come up with the right lines here.
