In depth

Verdict

This is a very trappy affair despite the small field and Another Club Royal is taken to get the better of top weight Swallow Magic and Mikasa. Ferdy Murphy¿s Swallow Magic will be a popular choice following a good second at Hexham last time. He has only won twice however, and his ability to handle soft ground is not proven-he has turned in two disappointing efforts in the past and he is overlooked. Roger Fisher¿s Mikasa has run well on a soft surface but his recent efforts do not inspire confidence-he was fifth of seven when made favourite at Market Rasen last time. Another Club Royal comes from a stable in form and runs well on this type of ground. He has been running well without winning and deserves a reward for his consistency. Another Club Royal is the selection.
