Verdict

Three of RIVER PURPLE's four career victories have come over these fences. He's only a pound higher than the last of those last summer and showed enough at Southwell 12 days ago, when Billy Cuckoo was behind, to suggest a return to winning ways is imminent. Safari Journey's win at Newcastle two weeks ago was his first since 2010 so he may be worth opposing off a 6lb higher mark while Pret A Thou clearly isn't the force of old. Ballybogey is still seeking a first victory over fences and was tailed off last time at Catterick and the remainder have plenty to prove on recent form.
