Verdict

Those with promising numbers to their name have achieved those figures in the point-to-point arena and it's WHITSUNDAYS who makes greatest appeal. The McCain team have a solid record in these contests and their Kutub gelding was most impressive when obliging with ease on the second of his two pointing efforts. Local Show is an obvious candidate too whilst The Boss's Dream finished runner-up in no less than half a dozen of eight point-to-point starts. The market is usually informative in such contests, so note should be made of how Tim Vaughan's newcomer, Officer Hoolihan, goes in the betting, whilst Tyre Hill was far from disgraced when fifth on his debut at Worcester and could go nicely for the interesting combination of Mikey Ellis and David Dennis, both of whom are making a good impression in their respective spheres.
