    Verdict

Division one of the bumper can go to Dan's Man ahead of Master Marmalade and newcomers Callingwood and Ammunition. Dan's man would appear to have obvious claims here, hailing as he does from a yard that knows how to get them ready early, and indeed he so nearly went in at the first time of asking on his recent debut at Towcester. Sent off favourite, the son of Zaffaran took time to pick up and displayed signs of greenness, but was only beaten a short-head at the finish. He strode out well up the hill, and although this track will not bring his stamina into play as much, the relative of Rubstic and Kildimo should go one better on the road to a career over fences one day. Master Marmalade was actually only a neck behind the selection in third at Towcester, but the fact is he was held and lines up on the same terms. He should be a banker for the frame though, and of the rest watch out for Ammunition from Mark Pitman's yard, and Callingwood, a half-brother to Ballinclay King, but Dan's Man should prove hard to beat.
