In depth

Verdict

A tight little race, where preference is for Dhaudeloup, who is expected to be given the most to do by Ojays Alibi, who has run well in the face of a couple of stiff test lately and may prove better suited to this smaller field. A modest case can also be made for Harben on the best of his hurdles form. However, it is worth bearing in mind that he is plating class in that sphere and comes into the race with something to prove. While Polensa Bay has shown very little of late to suggest his chase debut will be a winning one and he is best left alone this afternoon. Therefore, Dhaudeloup looks to be a far more reliable option. The nine-year-old has plenty of experience over fences - coming here on the back of a solid effort at Chepstow last November. A repeat of that performance will make him a very tough customer to deal with and, in spite of the likelihood of cramped odds prevailing; Dhaudeloup looks the sensible option today.
