In depth

Verdict

Chaser Ballyfoy needs a thorough test of stamina and got that over 3m5f at Cheltenham last time when outstaying Battlecry up the hill. Fourth in the Midlands National here previously, he can race off a 13lb lower mark over hurdles but has only managed one place in four previous runs over the smaller obstacles. He may just get outpaced today and we'll take on Gary Moore's veteran with MOHI RAHRERE, who also reverts to hurdles after a spell over fences and did finish behind Ballyfoy in the Midlands National. However, he clearly found 4m beyond him that day and his general record at this track is second to none. Mauricetheathlete, twice a winner over 3m on an easy surface at Chepstow last season, also warrants respect and Sandynow has been in good form, though is 6lb higher than when only second at Chepstow last time. Veteran Kathleens Pride may be best of the rest.
