Verdict

Patsy Finnegan deserves a change of luck but the fact that he is an 11-year-old and still competing in novice events speaks volumes and the top weight will probably find at least one too good again. Blackwell Synergy left previous form behind when justifying favouritism at Huntingdon but ODDJOB looks equally progressive and was always travelling well when scoring at Chepstow four weeks ago. He can follow up here as Always Bold may need softer ground and Firm Order appears to have lost his way. Countess Comet was third at Wetherby last time but more is needed here.
