In depth

Verdict

In the finale, Hehasalife is selected ahead of River Quoile and Southerndown. Although he can lack consistency, Hehasalife bounced back to winning ways last time and, still on a winning mark based on form of a year ago, has to be seriously considered today. Bernini could not be ruled out on the best of his 2004 efforts, although he lacks a recent run, and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that River Quoile could go well from his current rating. Southerndown could be considered on his best efforts of a year ago, but it is hard to get too revved up for the chances of most of the others. All of which spins us back to the selection, which is Hehasalife.
