In depth

Verdict

Top weight Woodbrook Boy was engaged to run over timber at Cork last night. Bellgrove won the race a year ago and is 3lb lower while My Oakclahome was always in the front rank over the track and trip last week and was only headed close home after leading at the last. He's up 2lb but looks certain to get into contention. Crimson Chief wasn't beaten far when third over fences at Killarney in August before reverting to hurdles though hasn't run since October. GIVE HIM TIME (NAP), a moderate performer for Nick Gifford in the UK, was beaten a long way when making his debut over fences for Gordon Elliott at Tipperary but reverted to hurdling with an impressive victory at Downpatrick. Back over the larger obstacles here, he looks the one to beat.
