Verdict

It was good going when CLASSIC JEWEL won at Uttoxeter in July. He’s not been disgraced on softer surfaces since and, though still climbing the weights, has the best recent form of these. Some Finish and Heurtevent are both previous course winners and that counts for plenty around here. Belmont Park still has a bit of scope but Edward Elgar blotted his copybook at Southwell in June and hasn’t been seen since.
